Boot Recrafting

A man and his boots can go a long way. And since many Danner boots can be recrafted by replacing the outsole, reworking the leather and restitching the seams, a man with a pair of Danner boots can go even further. Our craftsmen can provide everything from simple part replacement and leather care to major overhauls.

Please Note
* Stitching in the welt area (around the outsole) can't be repaired. Damage to these areas can only be repaired with a package including replacement of the outsole.

** A new steel shank will be used regardless of the type of shank originally used in the boots.

How to Get Your Boots Recrafted

    Determine if your boots can be recrafted

    Danner can only repair boots with stitch-down construction. If your boots have stitching around the entire perimeter of the boot sole they can be repaired. We cannot repair seriously damaged or torn leather. If you are unsure as to whether or not your boot qualifies, please feel free to contact us.

    PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to recraft non stitch-down boots such as the 453 or Striker.

    Download & complete the order form

    Download the Recrafting Order Form, and follow the instructions. You must have Adobe Reader to print this form.

    Ship your boots to us

    Place your completed order form and boots in a box. Before you send us your boots, be sure to remove excess mud and dirt to speed up the turnaround time (there will be an additional $10 fee to clean your dirty boots). Also, please remove your laces and any special insoles that you may want to keep.

    Please note that all international recrafting orders outside of North America will include a $150 surcharge for return shipping.

    We'll Process Your Boots

    Danner will inspect your boots (please make sure they meet the criteria in step 1). When your boots have passed inspection an order will be opened and your credit card will be authorized for the full amount. This will place a hold on your funds, but the full charge will not be made until the boots are completed. Once your boots are complete they will be inspected again and we'll ship them back to you.
